North Shore Fire Department Explorer program is a chance for youth and young adults to explore careers in fire and emergency services. The program is designed to engage young adults in learning about, and ultimately becoming, members of the emergency services community. It is crucial to attract youth at an early age so that they form a lifelong connection, whether as a first responder or as a community supporter. Explorer Training is held on the first and third Saturday of every month. Students may apply for the Explorer program once they have graduated 8th grade.
The Explorer Experience
Explorers will attend training that is organized by career firefighters that also function as mentors to the program. Members will receive hands-on training, participate in community events such as, Fourth of July Parades and National Night Outs. Once qualified, Explorers can participate ride-a-longs with the on-duty shifts. To apply, please click the link below to submit an application.
