OFFICIAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATION 81 SIDING, ROOF AND WINDOW REPLACEMENT

Bids due at 2:00 pm CST (local time) 18th day of May 2018.

Sealed bids will be received by the North Shore Fire Department [NSFD] for replacement of siding, roof and windows at Fire Station 81, 4401 W. River Lane, Brown Deer, WI (building) until the time and date indicated above as described in the Project Scope Document.  A single lump sum bid will be received for all work required to complete the Project except for the options as described in the Project Scope. Bids for options should be identified separately.  Bids will be opened publicly immediately thereafter.  The NSFD intends to award within thirty days of bid opening.

Work consists of replacement of building siding, roof and windows as described in the scope and all related work to accomplish the scope.

Mr. Brennan is available to meet on site prior to bid date by appointment only. A meeting is not mandatory to submit a bid.

A Bid Bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany each bid.  If the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish payment and performance bonds within fifteen days after award of contract, the check, or bond shall be forfeited to the NSFD as liquidated damages per Section 62.15 (3) Wisconsin Statutes.  Successful Bidder will be required to have Performance Bond/Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract.  Cost of Performance Bond/Labor and Material Payment Bond shall be included in Bid. The NSFD intends to use its tax-exempt status to procure construction products for the work. The Bid, Payment and Performance Bonds shall be placed with a bonding company with a Best’s Insurance Reports rating of no less than A and a Financial Size Category of no less than Class V.

All Contractor(s) and Subcontractor(s) are required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance in accordance with the insurance requirements provided by the Department. All Contractor(s) and Subcontractor(s) must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of age, race, religion, color, handicap, sex, physical condition, or developmental disability as defined in s. 51.01(5), Wis. Stats., or national origin.

No bid may be withdrawn within a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

The NSFD reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to waive any irregularity or informality in bidding and to accept any bid which will be to the best interest of the NSFD.
